FILM: Trafficking Cinderella

4.17.03 8:00 PM - 8:00 p.m. Brown Amnesty International’s 3rd Annual Human Rights Film Festival presents Trafficking Cinderella (Duration 48 minutes). A documentary about the trafficking of women in Eastern Europe.

Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, there has been a marked increase in forced prostitution and in the trafficking of women in Eastern Europe. This film presents testimonials of women who have been victimized by a prostitution industry thriving in the absence of proper regulation. In her directorial debut, filmmaker and television journalist Mira Niagolova looks at the economic destitution and hopes for new opportunity that drive women into the industry, and the dangers that result.
